About New Spirit School

The New Spirit Schools are charter schools including a Primary School serving Kindergarten through Grade 5 and a Middle School serving Grades 6 through 8. Charter schools are publicly-funded (there is no tuition), non-sectarian and cannot discriminate in admissions. It also means that the district cannot simply assign students to us; everyone who attends New Spirit is here by choice. Minnesota was a leader in the charter school movement and New Spirit is one of more than 70 charter schools now operating in the state. And while New Spirit was formed in part to provide an excellent education to a low-income and racially mixed area of St. Paul, the school is open to anyone and the Core Knowledge curriculum is attractive no matter what your background.
